Enjoy Eyeball Jello Shots for a wiggly jiggly fun time. They were jumping out at you!!!ĭon’t let the kids have all the fun this Halloween. I liked putting them on top of the jello shot because of the dimension that it gave it. I let them set up a bit more so they were solid, but still tacky. You can set the candy eyeballs into the jello shots, just a few minutes after you pour the mixture into the cups. These candy eyeballs are from Treat Street, and are perfect for the jello shots! They are tasty and gruesome! Plus the pretty neutral flavor from the juice means you get the enjoy the fun fruity flavor from the candy eyeball. The white grape juice make for a pretty clear base. That will certainly score you an invite back for next year! You’ll be a hit when you walk into a Halloween party this year. They are so awesome since they are easy to make and everyone loves them. That all inspired me to make these fun Eyeball Jello Shots!! And I want to be the cool neighbor with awesome decorations, good candy, and fun treats for the parents too. It’s worth getting to see the costumes, hear them say “Trick or Treat!!!!”, and then toss a handful of candy in their bags. I love to hand out candy too so it can be a juggling act to go out with the kids, and then get settled in to hand out candy. The kids get the candy, we get our own special treats! Cheers!!īesides our own drinks, some houses in our neighborhood hand out drinks or jello shots. Of course, Price and I brought fun adult beverages with us. My friend worked on walking a baby out (she was soooo due!!!) and we enjoyed Hunter’s first Halloween. Last year we went with our friends so our girls could walk around together “trick or treating” as they went. And I can’t wait!!!! I am practically counting down the days… 27 days. This will be our 2nd year trick or treating in our neighborhood. Read my full disclosure HEREĭo you go with a group of friends? Drive to a neighborhood to get the best candies? If the iris is damaged as you remove the eyeball from the egg holder, use your fingertip to gently push it back into place.Adults can enjoy some boozy treats when they enjoy these Eyeball Jello Shots. The vodka veins settle into the surface of the eyeball, so I recommend creating these as close to the act as possible. Dip the tip of a tiny paintbrush into the mixture and carefully paint veins onto the eyeballs by drawing curved lines from the bottom of each gummy into the center of the iris. In a small mixing bowl, combine the vodka and red food coloring. Place the gummy eyeballs onto a serving platter. To remove the gummies, gently push each eyeball with a fingertip until loosened from the egg holder. Return the egg holder to the freezer for 30 minutes more, until the gelatin is set. Remove the egg holder from the freezer and carefully spoon about 2 teaspoons of the coconut mixture into each eye until the chocolate chip is covered. Allow this mixture to cool for about 5 minutes, so that you do not melt the pupil and iris. Pour the hot milk into the cool gelatin mixture and whisk until the gelatin is dissolved completely. Heat the remaining 1/2 cup coconut milk in the microwave for 1 minute, until hot. Add the confectioners' sugar and whisk until the mixture is free of lumps. Meanwhile, mix the remaining packet of gelatin with 1/4 cup cold coconut milk in a small bowl. Place the egg holder into the freezer for 30 minutes, until the blue is set. I couldn’t find the exact product I used online, but any sort of gummy candy should work. Using a pipette or eyedropper, drop 3 to 4 drops of blue gelatin around each chocolate chip to form the blue iris of each eye. The eyeballs are gummy cupcake toppers from Wilton’s (purchased at Target). Pour the hot water into the cool gelatin mixture and whisk until the gelatin is dissolved completely. Heat 1/2 cup water in the microwave for 1 minute, until hot. In a small mixing bowl, mix 1 packet of gelatin with 1/4 cup cold water, mixing until combined and free of lumps. Place a chocolate chip flat-side down into each hole of the egg holder to form pupils. Lightly spray a hard plastic 12-hole egg holder/carton with nonstick cooking spray.
